Why are red, green, yellow, and blue and orange common power light colors on electronics?

Like on a laptop the power light is green. I wanna know why. Why that color?

Cheap LEDs…

Wake Up & Smell the Coffee – Energy Companies are Robbing Us Blind. Slash Your Energy Costs Today!!

Are you tired of the every rising cost of energy and never having enough cash to keep up with the rises? You could seriously cut the cost of your home energy starting today.

I am an electrician and it amazes me when I visit customer’s homes just how much energy they are wasting and they are often unaware of how they can reduce their energy costs.

Now, I am no saint myself but I am becoming more aware of energy consumption and the cost of energy for my own home. I am starting to feel like my elders of days gone by when they would keep saying “Turn out that light, switch off that radio” etc. does that sound familiar? I find myself doing the same thing with my 12yr old son.

You can do something about YOUR energy bill if you follow the steps I want to show you.

We all pay for energy one way or another at home and at work, unless we have an alternative. All electrical appliances we use are rated by watts. This is a unit of power consumed generally expressed as kilowatt power used per hour.

Now you might not be aware, that basically, if it is plugged in it could be costing you money every single minute of the day when you are not using it. What do I mean by this?

Have you noticed that some of your home appliances have a little red light to tell you it is on standby? What it does not tell you is it is consuming energy even though you believe it is switched off. Some examples of this might be a modern electric kettle, a dishwasher when it has finished its cycle, a computer and monitor – not forgetting your printer, the TV, set top box, DVD or Video player, Radio/alarm clock in the spare room, that old fridge you keep drinks cool in for the summer and it is almost empty the rest of the year.

One way you can slash your energy prices at a stroke today, is to start getting into the habit of turning off all those appliances you are not using. Yes I know, the plug might not be easy to get to, especially if it is hidden behind that TV stand, and looking like a bird’s nest of wires where it is hard to find which lead fits what plug.

There are all sorts of sites which offer guidance on power consumption but that is not the purpose of this article. What if you discovered how easy it is to cut your fuel bills with a minimum of effort and without it costing you a penny.

I guess one of the biggest culprits is the TV corner of most living rooms, but do not forget the kids room or anywhere else where you have a TV consuming energy. You might have a TV, DVD, Video, and Set Top Box, Play-station or other appliances plugged in. My room is no different to anyone elses last thing at night. When I turn off the TV and the room lights I see a soothing aray of coloured stanby lights smileing at me!

Now it is those tiny little lights that should be ringing alarm bells in our heads and screaming at us “I am costing you money every second of every minute and every hour of the day……..” you get the meaning?

I saw a programme recently where someone demonstrated that his TV alone used a third of the power it used normally, just by being left on standby. That is quite alarming. Can you see how easy it is the start slashing your energy consumption in a single flick?

Get into the habit of switching off all your gadgets, those extra lights in the room and unplug those you are not sure about just in case. It is good practice to unplug appliances from the socket just in case there is a wiring fault. A neighbour’s son bought a new computer and left it switched on all the time. It caught fire and they had to call the fire brigade. The appliance was obviously faulty and fortunately he was at home to prevent it being worse that it would have been had he gone out!!

Earth 4 Energy Explains the Basics of Solar Power

Earth 4 Energy has brought forth utilizing solar energy as an inexpensive and environmentally safe way to using electricity. To help you better understand what solar energy can do to help save the environment as well as help save you money on your electric bill you must first understand the basics of solar energy and solar power.

The electrical energy obtained by converting sun light is called solar energy. This conversion is done by using collectors that are placed on the tops of homes or buildings. The collecting of solar energy is done by using solar panels made up of semi-conductive materials, all of which are furthered explained through Earth 4 Energy. Solar panels are capable of producing enough electricity to power the lights and electrical appliances in the average home after about 6 and 7 hours of collecting sunlight. If the sunlight is direct it may take less time to store the needed energy.

The amount of solar panels needed will depend on the intensity of the sunlight received as does the efficiency. Solar energy is said to be a lot cleaner than energy collected from coal, oil or nuclear energy sources, because there are no pollutants released into the air. Through technological advances which are displayed in Earth 4 Energy’s instructions and information guide, these solar power systems have become attainable to the common man since the price has decreased steadily. It also has become a possibility for us to produce enough solar energy to actually sell the extra amounts back to the power companies, to make a substantial profit.

When you convert your home over to solar power or even partially depend on solar power, which is explained more in depth through Earth 4 Energy; you will notice an immediate difference between the cost of your old power company and the very small cost of the solar energy. The difference in your power bill and the effects on environment will speak for itself. Solar energy being a vast free source of energy which is emission free so there are no hazards towards the environment, is surely to become a very popular alternative to paying the power company every month.

The solar energy that is collected may be used for longer hours than most other energy sources. Once the installation is made you would not have any expenses to pay as the system requires very little maintenance. As long as you get enough sun light they seem to work forever. You can alternate this with wind power if your place does receive enough sunlight.

Solar energy in the home is a win win situation and so is turning to Earth 4 Eergy in guidance on how to make solar energy work for you. You are not only being environmentally friendly but you will also influence others to begin using solar energy to power their homes. In this day of energy conservation and concern for the effect that human activity is having on our planet you will want to install a home- made energy system to give the environment and your wallet a break.

Using home-made solar energy is a great way to save money and the environment at the same time. If more people took the initiative to convert their homes to use solar and wind energy this world would become a cleaner and healthier place to live. Earth 4 Energy can help us get there!

Pancreatic Cancer and Its Alternative Treatments

Pancreatic cancer affects the pancreas, an organ which forms part of our digestive system. It is caused in much the same way as most cancers, whereby abnormal growth in cells leads to a lump on the pancreas which then requires treatment.

Most pancreatic cancers begin at the head of the pancreas, but it is possible for them to start in any part of the organ. The most common type of pancreatic cancer is known as exocrine, which begins by forming in the cells lining the ducts. However, another type of pancreatic cancer is known as endocrine, which is characterized by the production of hormones, and this is much rarer.

Causes

There are no specific causes of pancreatic cancer, but as with many cancers there are a number of factors which can increase the risk of us developing the condition. Smoking is perhaps the most obvious thing that we can avoid to prevent getting the disease, but eating a diet high in fats and sugars, as well as taking relatively little exercise, being overweight or drinking too much alcohol can all increase our risk levels.

Symptoms

Pancreatic cancer is particularly difficult to diagnose because there are so many different possible symptoms. These include itchy skin, general sickness, diabetes, fever, producing dark-coloured urine, developing stomach pain, experiencing weight loss or developing jaundice. However, as these are also common symptoms of many other conditions it is not easy to find out whether we have become affected.

Standard Treatment

All of these vague symptoms mean that pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed late, meaning the level of treatment required will be much more extreme.

Earlier treatment will often involve surgery, but if the cancer is caught later then this will usually mean being treated with chemotherapy, with all the nasty side effects that this can produce, such as sickness, rashes and fluid retention.

Radiotherapy is not used for the treatment of pancreatic cancer, and is generally only being used in the later stages of the disease where it can help to slow it down.

Alternative Treatments

Due to the harsh nature of the standard forms of treatment, many of us choose to go with alternative treatments instead. There are a number of different types of alternative treatments available, and often they can work together to lead to the best results.

Bio-photonic light treatment is a natural form of treatment that has been seen to produce good results. This is concerned with increasing the energy levels of individual cells which have become damaged and weakened due to the cancer. Through a process of directing UV rays towards them, these cells are pumped full of energy to better help them to restore our natural energy levels, thereby helping us to deal with the condition.

This often goes alongside a very kind and non-invasive type of treatment consisting of emotional freedom techniques (EFT). This consists of a whole range of different treatments that aim to focus on our emotional healing and meridian balancing. It is based on the idea that many cancers and degenerative diseases are triggered by a particularly stressful or traumatic event in our lives, which distorts the positive balance of the cells within the body. The aim is then to reverse this process by balancing the cells.

It can consist of a certain level of counselling and therapy to get to the heart of the problem, and once this has been done we are then subjected to a certain amount of treatment though special appliances, which aim to restore the strength of our bodies to the levels seen before the disease took over.

There are also a few formulas which people can use as alternative therapies, two of which are Formula MVA and Formula PG. Formula MVA is a dietary supplement that works by boosting the immune system, thereby helping the body to naturally overcome the cancerous cells. It contains a whole host of natural substances, including Palladium, Vitamins B1, B2 and B12, and Acetyl Cystiene amongst others, and it aims to increase the energy levels in the cells. It can even be used alongside traditional treatments to lessen their damaging side effects.

Formula PG makes use of peptides which come from pig spleens, which have long been known to help patients with degenerative diseases. These peptides allow cells and organs to communicate better with their surrounding environments and each other.

All of these alternative therapies can be used individually or in combination to produce an entirely different type of treatment for cancer sufferers that do not suffer from the same painful side effects of conventional treatments.

Geothermal Renewable Energy – The Earth

The heat of the Earth makes up what is known as geothermal energy. When dust and gasses from Earth mixed together 4 billion years ago, geothermal energy resulted.

Inside the Earth at its core, some 4, 000 miles deep, the temperature is estimated at about 9,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Geothermal energy has been used throughout history for bathing, relaxing, cooking and heating. It was thought by some to have healing effects and was used to treat eye and skin diseases. The first geothermal generator that produced energy was built in Lardarello, Italy in 1904. The United States followed with their first attempt at geothermal power in 1912 at The Geysers in California. Today it is produced in twenty-one countries around the world.

Geothermal energy is located deep in the ground. The heat at the core of the Earth has an outward flow. As it moves, it is transferred to surrounding rock layers called the mantle. As temperatures and pressure increase, the rock melts and becomes magma. The magma moves toward the surface of the earth carrying the heat with it. If the magma reaches the Earth’s surface, it becomes lava. However, most of it stays below the Earth’s crust and heats rocks and water that surround it. These temperatures can reach up to 700 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water travels to the Earth’s surface, it becomes hot springs or geysers. Mostly it stays trapped in fractured, porous rocks called geothermal reservoirs. This heat near the Earth’s surface becomes a form of energy.

Hot water or steam from the reservoir exerts a force that can spin a turbine connected to a generator and produces electricity. The cooled water is then returned to the reservoir in order for it to reheat. Much exploration and testing needs to be done to determine where the geothermal underground waters are. When ideal spots are located, drilling is done to create production wells that bring the water to the Earth’s surface for power generation in geothermal power plants.

Although the costs to construct geothermal plants and geothermal wells are high, the cost of producing electricity is lower over time. The fuel is reliable, stable and does not need to be transported. The white smoke you will see over geothermal power plants is not smoke but rather steam. During the process of operations it may, however, bring some hazardous gases from underground.

The United States stands as the biggest producer of geothermal energy. Unfortunately, interest in it is low and it only accounts for about 1% of this country’s energy supply. Through research and experience new methods and technologies for accessing geothermal energy will improve. Tapping into the heat under the Earth’s surface can produce much more of the nations energy. We are at a point where renewable energy sources must make their way to the forefront of the energy picture. Not only are fossil fuels being depleted, but also they are ruining our air quality. In time, geothermal energy may become an appealing alternative. Competitive pricing and minimal environmental impact could produce a hot future for this renewable energy source.
